Structural design leadership for shaft steelwork replacement.

Project Context

The CSA mine has been operating since early 1900's, the original shaft steelwork had advanced levels of corrosion and during feasibility studies it was concluded that repairs were not feasible, therefore, a new design was required.

Engineering Scope

  • Structural inspection of existing steelwork
  • Feasibility study of repair options
  • Preliminary and detailed design of proposed steelwork replacement
  • Constructability assessment with execution contractor (ECI)
  • Coordination with structural designers on detailed design
  • Delivery of design, engineering calculations and report

Outcomes

  • AFC drawings to enable construction
