Project Context
Christy Drive at Port Kembla required a new industrial access bridge to carry SM1600 traffic loads into a working port and steelworks environment, delivered under a design-and-construct model with TfNSW compliance.
Engineering Scope
- Safety in Design of removal of existing bridge and construction of new bridge
- Design review of demolition methodology and drawings of existing damaged bridge
- Civil and structural design review of 18 m single-span bridge superstructure and supports on behalf of the client (BlueScope Steel)
- Alignment, pavement interfaces and drainage tie-ins review and amendments
- Design to TfNSW bridge design requirements and relevant AS/NZS standards
- Durability detailing for marine-influenced exposure classification
- Design and temporary design review, as-built documentation and D&C coordination
- Constructability review with contractor on erection sequence and temporary works
