MMD Group, a global manufacturer of material sizing and handling systems, has signed an agreement with Anglo American to transfer the intellectual property rights for TraxIQ — a system-level material handling solution developed by Anglo American — to MMD.
Industrialisation and deployment
As owner of TraxIQ, MMD will lead industrialisation, commercialisation and global deployment, with collaboration opportunities with Anglo American where appropriate.
As global mineral and metal demand continues to accelerate, the mining industry faces rising pressure to manage complexity while adopting new approaches to enhance productivity, lower emissions and reduce total cost per tonne.
TraxIQ is designed as an ambitious model for material handling. Its system-level architecture supports scalable deployment across diverse mining environments, integrating modular vehicle architecture, advanced energy-management strategies and integrated autonomous control systems.
MMD’s Centre of Excellence on the Isle of Man is working on industrialisation and product development, using global engineering, manufacturing and materials-handling capabilities. The company will work with select industry partners to deliver phased pilot deployments and validation in operational environments.
TraxIQ forms a core component of our intelligent movement portfolio. Our established global footprint and deep domain expertise in material handling and mining integration make us best placed to bring vision to the market.
